Description

The course is comprised of five individual units of competency but centred around two primary
units – Enter and Work in Confined Spaces and Work Safely at Heights, with the other three
units complementing and being required to perform the task safely.

This course is essential for people who are required to enter and work in confined spaces or work at heights as part of their employment.

To access many confined spaces (drains, silos, vats, tanks etc), vertical entry is required and
hence the need to also work at height. With this in mind, while conducting any task i.e. entering
the confined space, the worker needs to evaluate and control all possible hazards/risks including
testing the atmosphere for harmful contaminants all whilst working under the permit for the
confined space entry.

Purpose

This course has been developed to enable the learner to have a complete understanding of the task requirements as it would be in the workplace. It also provides transferable skills for many other areas and activities.
